October 9, 1909. Mr. Frederick W. Taylor, Highland Station, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pa. My dear Mr. Taylor: I am glad to be able to report that we are making material progress with the Morton Memorial Fund, having now in hand or in sight practlcally $20,000.00 out of the $28,000.00 to be raised. We are still unable to reach a good many men located at a distance, the greater part of the money so far subscribed coming from those we have reached personally. I am writing this letter to you in the hope that you can do something toward stirring up some of your class mates or other alumni in your district. We want every man so far as possible to take part in this matter even if his means only warrant a small contribution. We have had a large number of $500.00 and some $1,000.00 subscriptions, but those who cannot make such donations will be in very good company at much lower figures. We are not making public the individual subscriptions, and if
