Description
Author
prime object of the contribution has not been the erection of one or another description of building, Chemical or Physical, irrespective of its fitness to meet the needs of the Institute, but the supplying of the actual needs of the Institute in the best manner attainable with such funds as may be collected, and it seems to me that the final arrangement of this detail would be best left until we know what amount will be available and what specific arrangement will (in the opinion of the Faculty and Trustees, who are in a position to know about it) best meet the existing conditions. This, of course, need not in any way interfere with the consideration and discussion of any number of plans which may be brought forward. Whatever is done should, and without doubt will, be for the benefit of all departments, those remaining in the present building gaining as much increase of space as those moved into new quarters. Very truly yours, HENRY MORTON.
