Mr. Richard C. Maclaurin, President,
Mass. Institute of Technology,
Boston, Massachusetts.
My dear Mr. Maclaurin:-
I was very sorry not to see you here on Monday last. I had hoped for the opportunity of explaining our management to you and showing you its detailed application in some of our companies here in the city.
I am very sorry that I do not know of any engineer who I think would make a successful head for your Department of Mechanical Engineering. I can think of many men who would not be suited to it, but it is an exceedingly difficult matter to find the ideal man. I shall have the matter in mind, however, and will write you in case I think of any suitable man.
Yours sincerely,
