My dear Mr. Taylor,
I am writing you in the interests of a friend of mine, Mr. E. Williamson Miller. Mr. Miller is a graduate of Lehigh University and is an engineer and draughtsman. He has been employed for some time by the Robins Conveying Belt Co. of New York. During this time his salary has been raised 75%. This fact certainly speaks for the character of his work. Unfortunately, the Robins Co. is on the verge of bankruptcy and Mr. Miller has been told that his services would not be required after January 1st.
I have known Mr. Miller for a long time and he is a thoroughly worthy and capable man. He is also a man of the the very highest character. He has a wife and two children dependent upon him and cannot afford to be idle. Can you do anything for him or do you know of any place for which he might successfully apply? His address until January 1st will be- Park Row Building, 13 Park Row, New York City.
Hoping that you may be able to be of some assistance to him, I am as always,
Sincerely yours,
Langdon C. Stewardson
Love to you all & best Christmas greetings
