Mr. Anson W. Burchard,
c/o General Electric Company,
44 Broad Street,
New York City.
My dear Mr. Burchard:-
Your telegram was received last evening, and I answered you to Schenectady as follows:-
"Glad to see you my house Thursday afternoon or evening and visit shops next morning."
I should be very glad to have you and your friends from the Company take dinner with me at my house on Thursday evening. We dine at about half-past six o'clock. This will save time, as we can then get right down to business immediately after dinner. It takes about two hours and a half of steady talking for me to explain the underlying principles of what we are aiming at. I shall look forward with pleasure to your visit. On the following morning we can then go to see one or two companies, in fact you can occupy as much of the day as you care to with seeing the details of the system.
Yours sincerely,
