Mr. Fred W. Taylor,
Hotel Bon Air,
Augusta, Ga.
Dear Uncle Fred:--
Pardon me for troubling you with anything of a more serious nature than that contained in my postal of this morning, but we are having a very hard time to get a gardener to take charge of the Manchester farms, and so far have not run across any good man. I hear that you had a man by the name of Landam - a German I believe, working under Bender, whom Bender took with him when he started his flower shop. I understand this man is now looking for a job. Would you mind dropping me a line and letting me know if he was satisfactory, and whether he has had enough experience to do the work at Manchester without somebody over him.
Yours truly,
E.W. Clark 3rd
